"I SHUT MY EYES IN ORDER TO SEE"
Paul Gauguin
This new acrylic series is about approval. In times when social media controls many aspects and habits in our life, many issues and questions rise. A well known example is the “selfie phenomenon” which created many issues such as low self esteem, anxiety and conflict. On one side, one wishes to be seen and loved but on the other, dissolve and blend into social norms.
What is hiding behind all those filters and masks? Desire? Dreams? Secrets?
In this series of lady's portraits, I wish to motivate the viewer to ask questions, to wonder, to guess or just to enjoy and leave it as a riddle.
Series of Portraits painting inspired by the current
residence in Southeast Asia. The old and the new are mixed
and intertwined and reflected in the multiplicity of combined
portraits in silhouette, which is a framework that represents
the boundaries of tradition.
